April 2022 Update

When you open your eyes each morning, what is the first feeling you have? Are you happy? Do you feel excited about your upcoming day? Are you impatient to get out of bed and get on with a life that you love?

Or,

Are you filled with a sense of dread upon waking? Does your never ending to do list overwhelm you? Are tired of going to work for someone else everyday?

If you fall into the first category, that’s fantastic!

But if you find it difficult to get your day started, I have a question for you….

How would it feel if you started each day with confidence and clarity? If you knew exactly what you needed to do and you accomplished all your tasks with ease?

Have you ever thought about what it would take for that scenario to be true for you? Would it take a big shift in many areas of your life? Or, do you find you can become organised relatively easily?

How It Started

When I started my journey into self improvement, I thought of myself as a reasonably organised person that could plan well and meet deadlines without too much stress.

But, as I progressed on the path of improving myself and learning new things, I often became overwhelmed. Working a full time job, commuting, enrolling in courses in my spare time, learning new things and trying to become a better version of myself, all took its toll on me.

I would start tasks and they would remain unfinished as I moved on to something else that seemed more important at the time.

Although I would start with an idea of what I needed to do, time would get the better of me and before I knew it the day would be over and I wouldn’t have achieved as much as I had hoped.

Soon I became tired, stressed and disillusioned and I knew something had to change. I had started personal development to become a better, happier person that had more freedom and did less work but it wasn’t turning out like that.

I needed a strategy to help me accomplish all the things I needed to do but also felt good to me and gave me a sense of connection to every part of me on an emotional level. A process that would include all aspects of my life and would help me to create a life that I truly wanted to be living.

How I Changed It

So, I began experimenting.

What made me feel good?

When was I creating the most value?

Which tools would support me in becoming my most creative?

How could I quickly get back on track when things weren’t going to plan?

I tried lots of different diaries, planners, to do lists, habit trackers and other productivity tools and they absolutely have their place in my business and my life but the concept I kept coming back to was deeper than ticking items on a to do list. It was more than a functional way to get things done.

What I Learnt

It was how I started my day on an energetic level that made the difference. How I focused that energy when performing each task. The steps I put in place that considered how I was feeling when I performed a task or created something new. And the energy of my intention that dictated how I performed and the end result.

If I was clear on my intention and I was feeling good about it, I was always more successful and felt more at ease. When I managed my internal state and set my intention for each assignment, it made my whole day go smoother. I had less setbacks and the quality of my work improved.

I knew I was on to something, so I set about creating a process I could use on repeat to cultivate a potency in my work that felt good to me and kept me high vibe even for the mundane tasks.
