EXPOSED DAY 23

Thursday 23rd September 2021

How Far Can Imagination Take Us?

Have you ever noticed your thoughts? When you have time to yourself, have you ever noticed how your mind wanders? For me, all sorts of random thoughts pass through my mind. Sometimes, it’s events from twenty years ago and  I’ll think ‘why on earth was I thinking about that?’

Other times, it will be things that I know have not happened in reality and I’ll have to stop myself. Was it a fragment of a forgotten dream? Was it a flash of the future? I don’t know, but this process started me thinking about the quality of our thoughts.

Is there a reason that pointless, nonsensical thoughts float through our mind when we have a minute to ourselves? Is this ability something we are wasting if we aren’t consistently using it to shape our future? Should we be designating this free time in our mind to a schedule of personal growth?

If we can use this function to imagine what we could achieve in the future, would this make it easier to achieve? If we spend our time thinking and focusing on what we want to become, will this practice bring that thing into our reality?

If we dedicate a proportion of our time to imagining what we want to become, will that lead us to become said thing? How much of a part does our imagination play in how our lives turn out? When we daydream of things we desire, is it simply a waste of time? Or does spending that time thinking about and feeling how good it would be to have it, play a fundamental role in bringing it into existence?

If it does, then it would make sense to block time in your diary so you can practice imagining a thing and then take action to achieve it.

If we are responsible for our thoughts, then surely we are also responsible for making sure we use them well. If we can harness the power of our imagination and begin to think in a way that will improve our lives, then maybe we must make it our duty to use this power to constantly improve.

When we accept the reality that we control our thoughts and we can use them for good, I believe we can make a difference in our own lives, in that of our families and in our communities.

Do you agree?

EXPOSED DAY 24

Friday 24th September

What Do You Stand For?

In today’s world, we are constantly being told what people are against, and what we should also be against. So many things that were once ok to say, use, eat, do and be are now off limits. How can we turn this modern day negative worldview that we all seem to be caught up in, to a more positive outlook?

If we start by asking ourselves what we stand for instead of what we are against, it shifts our attention to a more positive place. When you remind yourself of what is important to you and why it matters, you’re able to separate what you feel like you should be doing and what you’re really passionate about.

I stand for happiness, freedom to design your life and limitless potential to be, do and have whatever you desire. In short, I stand for the betterment of others.

If I can help other women to start living the life they truly deserve, I will fulfil my purpose.

How do I do this?

To start, I must improve myself. How can I help others if I haven’t created change in my own life? By sharing what I’ve learned and creating resources so others can do the same, I am able to pass on this valuable knowledge so it can be used to educate and uplift people that are ready for their own journey of self improvement.

By advocating for others in this way, I not only help myself to improve but I create an environment in which other women feel safe to grow. Their self confidence increases and their ability to improve their lives dramatically changes.

When we open the door for change, we make way for many others to pass through the door with us. When we acknowledge the change within us, we acknowledge that same change is possible for everyone else. When we hold space for something wonderful to happen, we must believe that it is possible for everyone, that great success is possible for all.

I coach women with the intention and belief that they can achieve anything they choose to. What is it that you want to achieve? Fill in the form below to book your FREE coaching session today.

EXPOSED DAY 25

Saturday 25th September 2021

Start Viewing Failure As Opportunity

Most people view failure as the worst thing that can happen or the end. When they don’t get the exam results they want or they aren’t successful in the job interview, they see it as something that went wrong. They didn’t get what they wanted. They weren’t good enough. They failed because they weren’t worthy. I used to be one of those people.

I’m happy to say, I no longer think that way. Now I see failure as a wonderful opportunity. A redirection to something better than we thought we wanted. An amazing chance to learn, to try again and be upgraded.

When something doesn’t work out as we’d hoped. When it doesn’t go the way we wanted it to, this is life’s way of showing us it has something different planned for us, and it’s way better than we could have imagined. It’s not always apparent right away but when we look back, we’ll be able to see that it was in our best interests.

The thing that most people don’t see is that most successes are built on a long line of failures. People usually don’t become successful overnight. They’ve spent a long time working, creating and failing to get to the point that they become successful.

Don’t be afraid of failure. It’s when you fail that you learn important lessons and your ability to fail, shrug it off, learn from it and try again is what makes you strong enough to keep going until you do reach success.

Failure makes you think in creative ways, it makes you experiment and keep trying until you find a way that works. When we experience failure, we learn how to deal with it and each time we experience it, we become better equipped to navigate it so our failed ideas often lead to more ideas that actually work.

By accepting that failure is part of the learning process and in turn part of success, we empower ourselves to be successful. When we create from this place that all our ideas are good because we grow from them all, we make failure a meaningful part of life that we can all learn from.

When you view failure as an opportunity to grow and improve, you never really failed at all.

EXPOSED DAY 26

Sunday 26th September 2021

Go At Your Own Pace

Have you ever had the feeling that you’re getting left behind? That your friends and colleagues are way ahead of you and you just don’t know why because you’ve always worked hard and tried your best?

I used to wonder why people always seemed to be ahead of me in life. They already had the things I wanted and seemed to have it all figured out. Why was I so far behind? Why were they luckier than I?

I felt like I had hit a wall and no matter what I did, I couldn’t get over it. I began to question myself and my circumstances.

‘What am I doing wrong?’

‘Why do others seem to have it so easy?’

These questions got me thinking, what if we are all exactly where we are supposed to be? What if I’m not doing anything wrong? What if my life is this way because I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be at this moment?

We are all individuals with very different lives and backgrounds. The truth of the matter is, we aren’t supposed to be in the same place at the same time. We are all on our own journey, reaching the next milestone at different points in our lives.

We aren’t supposed to compare our progress to that of one another. It’s not a good indicator of our journey because we are all on different paths.

So, how do we know we are where we’re supposed to be?

We often get in a muddle trying to work out what our lives are supposed to look like, but life doesn’t always come in perfectly wrapped packages. It’s not meant to look exactly like your next door neighbours.

When you’re comfortable that you’re on the right path even when it doesn’t look like everybody else’s, that’s a good sign.

We are all here for different reasons. We all have our own purpose. When we have that realisation, start going at our own pace and stop comparing ourselves to others, we will start to make genuine progress on our own true path.

EXPOSED DAY 27

Monday 27th September 2021

Empowered = Empowering

Before I began my journey as an entrepreneur, I worked in a regular 9-5 job. I had several jobs over the years and all those jobs came with bosses. One of those bosses stood out above all the rest. She was a pleasure to work for. She was always positive and really made it her mission to get the best out of her team.

She was appreciative and made you feel valued. She asked your opinion and provided constructive feedback. She asked you what your goals were and helped you to work toward them. She led by example, but most importantly she empowered you to want to be the best you could be.

The experience of having worked in this environment really made a big difference in my life. Even though it was only for a relatively short time, it gave me the confidence to know I could achieve whatever I wanted if I put my mind to it. It also made me want to do the same for others as she had done for me.

Now, I’m able to do that in my coaching business. Empowering women to start living the life they truly want and deserve is the main focus of my group coaching programme.

By helping my clients reach new heights of their own potential, they are able to change their lives in ways they never thought possible. Through inspiration and motivation they are able to make bold moves that they wouldn’t have considered before.

When we work to empower others, we are not just lifting that person and helping them to achieve their dreams. We are starting a movement that has a ripple effect through society that passes from one person to another. A never ending spirit of helping and supporting others that impacts the world as well as oneself.

When we commit to empowering others, we put power in the hands of good people. We give them the ability to help themselves achieve great things and the ability to help others in the same way.

What can you do to empower someone today?

Our group coaching programme, Master Your Mindset – Change Your Life, opens for presale in October. You can get on the waitlist here https://upanduplife.com/master-your-mindset-waitlist/

EXPOSED DAY 28

Tuesday 28th September 2021

Receive Gratefully
I used to feel like I was alone, that I had to do everything myself and I had no one to support me. I liked being independent and got a certain amount of satisfaction from knowing I was capable and self sufficient but I also felt cut off from others and like I didn’t have anyone not reach out to should I need help.
I accepted this and continued on with life but now I realise there is a difference between not having anyone to help you and not wanting to accept help from others.

I was so caught up in being strong and independent that I didn’t realise I was pushing people away so they weren’t able to offer support if I needed it.

Where is the line between being open to outside help and totally closing yourself off to others? I didn’t know I had crossed it so it was difficult to acknowledge what I had done.

After a lifetime of being told we are expected to act in a certain way to be accepted by society, we can become blind to the truth of our actions. Becoming aware of our behaviour is the first step to changing it.

Once we are aware of what we are doing, we can begin the work of thinking and behaving in a different way but it takes time and sustained effort before it becomes second nature.

When we receive something, whether that be help, a compliment or a gift we reveal a vulnerable side of ourselves and our natural reaction is to decline. To say no thank you in an attempt to protect ourselves, or to keep people at arms length.

But we can change this. Receiving is a part of life and we shouldn’t feel selfish when it’s our turn. Both giving and receiving are part of the cycle. and if we don’t receive well we disrupt the flow of energy. Accept it with grace and be grateful for the experience.

When you need help don’t wait for someone to offer, ask for it. Ask for what you need when you need it. When someone needs your help and you are able to, give them what they need with no expectations.

When we follow the natural cycle, the energy can flow uninhibited. What can you do to be more open to receiving? How can you be more giving? Let me know in the comments.

EXPOSED DAY 29

Wednesday 29th September 2021

Create Your Own Transformation

If we want to live an up and up life, how do we start living it? How do we get there? How do we plan for a better future?

Although it may not be obvious, the answer is simple – Transformation.

How do we cultivate a transformation?

When I first started my journey of personal development, I didn’t know what I wanted but I knew I wanted change. So, what’s the best thing to do when you don’t know how to do something?

Consult an expert.

When I sought the guidance of a mentor, they helped me to clearly define where I was and where I wanted to be. Once this had been clarified, it was easier to build a plan of how I would achieve my transformation.

I hated feeling stuck in my current position with no apparent way out and my income was so low, it was keeping me stuck in a pay check to pay check cycle that I couldn’t get out from under without a radical shift.

These were the areas I needed to focus on first and they formed the basis of my plan to become a business owner. By transforming from employee to entrepreneur, I was able to give myself freedom to take my life in whatever direction I chose, I would also be able to generate my own income rather than being stuck on a fixed salary from my employer.  Of course, this wouldn’t happen overnight but this model has limitless potential.

Now I had clarity about what I wanted, iI had to implement this plan and take action. Taking action is the most important part.

The desire to consistently improve your life is one of your most fundamental needs. The feeling that comes from knowing that you are becoming more, is part of your nature.

Self improvement is a never ending journey, as no matter where you are and what you have achieved, there is always something new to learn, another goal to reach. As we keep pushing ourselves ever closer to the final result, the goal posts move again as a new level we can elevate to reveals itself.

What are you waiting for? Start creating the life you desire now. If you’re ready to start your transformation, get on the waitlist for our group coaching programme Master Your Mindset – Change Your Life. Presale opens in October. https://upanduplife.com/master-your-mindset-waitlist/
